To connect a Biometric device with Timelabs software, user must proceed with below steps:

1. Connect device to a LAN cable

or

2. Connect device to Wi-Fi network
3. Put Cloud Server settings
4. Add Biometric Device in Timelabs

Step 1:

Connecting Device to LAN cable: As soon as you receive Biometric device, connect the same to your local network using an Ethernet cable. Once Ethernet cable is connected, provide a valid local IP to your device. This requires to establish network connectivity and to provide internet access to the device.

Open device Menu by pressing Menu/OK button. This will open up below screen:

Here tap on communication (COMM.) which opens below options:

Open Ethernet here to enter local IP address and network settings to your device. When the device needs to communicate with local network, you need to configure network settings and ensure that the device IP is from same network segment.

Here you can modify IP settings and update your network IP and gateway. If you wish to use a DHCP IP address, simply turn on ‘DHCP’ from the setting. Keep rest other setting unchanged/default one.

Connecting Device to Wi-Fi: If your device is Wi-Fi compatible, you can connect your device to Office Wi-Fi network as well. The Wi-Fi compatible device enables data transmission via Wi-Fi and establishes a wireless network environment. Wi-Fi is enabled by default in the device. If you don't need to use the Wi-Fi network, you can toggle the Wi-Fi to disable.

Search the Wi-Fi Network:

Tap Wireless Network on the Comm. Settings interface to configure the Wi-Fi settings.

Turning on Wi-Fi will show available Wi-Fi networks. Tap on the appropriate Wi-Fi name from the available list, and input the correct password in the password interface, and then tap Connect to WIFI (OK).

When the Wi-Fi is connected successfully, the initial interface will display the Wi-Fi  logo.

Tab Advance setting to enter IP address manually for the Wi-Fi network.

Step 2:

Put Cloud Server settings: Once device is connected to local network and has internet connectivity, it is now ready to push data on your cloud server. User now needs to provide cloud server settings in the device. Tap Cloud Server Setting on the Comm. Settings interface to connect with the ADMS/cloud server.

For our cloud customers, these settings are pre-configured in the device and you don’t need change it. But for on-premises customers cloud server settings needs to be entered according to their cloud server configuration.

User can either put cloud server IP or domain/hostname of their cloud server along with the port number.
